Opening doors to the future
On the northern shoreline of Manukau Harbour rests Market Cove, one of Auckland’s most exciting residential developments. A place designed for people, growth and community. The master-planned 14-hectare precinct offers a new standard of community lifestyle and connectivity.
Conveniently placed between Auckland airport and the CBD, you’ll have direct connections to the city and beyond with motorway and public transport networks at your doorstep. Choose from a variety of beautifully designed, easy living homes, at prices to suit every pocket. Market Cove is leading a new wave of opportunity for Favona and the surrounding communities.
People at the heart
The heart and soul of Market Cove will be its people. The vision will create a vibrant new community with interweaving links, connecting people to the land, its heritage and each other.
A former market gardening site, the land holds rich history of productive community life. The master- plan design revives this heritage, focussing on creating a thriving community with the intention to provide a retail precinct and community centre at the heart of the development.
Once complete, it’s anticipated this 14-hectare phased development will be the location for over 1200 homes. The master-plan aims to optimise the physical and experiential essence of the site and its surroundings, to form a people-orientated environment that is secure, inviting and desirable.
Master-planned from the very beginning, every detail is being carefully considered, the look and feel, how the site interacts with the elements and how it will age over the decades. Architects Dean Boothroyd and Peter Dredge of leading studio NH Architecture designed the master-plan from the original Overland group concept, bringing their expertise in large-scale urban design and seeking a new expression of architecture as a public construction.
The master-plan design focuses on drawing the public into the heart of the community, where retail and community meet open green spaces to provide a vibrant hub. Timeless design flows from front doors into a grid of tree-lined streets. The proposed native and productive planting throughout pocket parks and urban streetscapes aims to invite birdlife and enhance the thriving natural environment surrounding the precinct.
Power of place
The Auckland Unitary Plan strategically places Favona as the region for industrial, commercial and residential growth. Market Cove is perfectly located to take advantage of that.
Conveniently placed between Auckland airport and 15km South of Auckland CBD, you’ll have direct connections to the city and beyond in every direction. The site is well positioned to take advantage of the Waterview Connection set to open early 2017, which will connect the Southwestern and Northwestern Motorways (State Highways 20 and 16).
If you’re not travelling by car, there are bus services to Onehunga and the CBD, along with regular trains on the Southern Line from nearby Otahuhu Station to Britomart, Manukau, Papakura and Pukekohe.
